Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. The university is widely acknowledged for starting the modern research into the study of eyewitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won multiple grants, and been recognized with numerous internationally and national awards. She has provided advice to numerous government agencies and governments across the globe on policies as well as research related to the treatment of child victims by the justice system. She acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of numerous professional groups, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychological Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is an active member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as President of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development Practice Division and the Society for Child Policy American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
